The Injections

Perspiration (sweating) is actually a healthy, normal function of our bodies. But some people suffer from excessive sweating that goes beyond the body’s necessary regulation of its temperature. Overactive sweat glands are often responsible for hyperhidrosis. Depending on the cause, there are different treatments available.
What does the procedure entail?
Botox® is injected into several areas of the skin and this instantly prevents the sweat glands from producing sweat. This product not only has a paralyzing effect on muscles, but also on the glands and can therefore significantly reduce the body’s perspiration by blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate them. This method is mainly used in the armpit area and on the palms of the hands.
Injections to prevent sweating
During the summer season we often notice an increased interest in anti-sweating injections for the armpit area. Especially when the weather is warmer, our patients can avoid unpleasant underarm wet patches and the embarrassment of sweat-stained, discoloured clothing.
How long does the treatment last?
The treatment only takes 20 minutes and lasts up to 6 months. Which is more or less a whole summer.
Wrinkle relaxer works very effectively against chronic migraines; it is also used to treat other illnesses including hemifacial spasm, dystonia, cerebral palsy, and stroke.
Wrinkle relaxer injections are given under the skin or into the muscles in and around the head, above the ears, and into the neck and shoulders. The injections can be repeated every 12 weeks until the patient no longer has chronic migraine. Normally a response is seen after the first or second set of injections.
